Basketballs / Basket balls
Basketballs are the most important part of basketball - the sport. The official size of a basketball is 29.5 inches in circumference and it must weigh 22 ounces. Inflation of the ball must be between 7.5-8.5 lbs/inch. Basketballs also can come in a variety of sizes and colors. They are made from a rubber bladder wrapped in layers of fiber. The covering (exterior) of the basketball is made from rubber, leather, or some type of synthetic composite.
Like most all other inflatable balls, basketballs have a small opening to increase or decrease air pressure. The ball is textured with 4118 tiny pebbles for better gripping. Ball are usually made differently depending on their uses both outdoors and indoors.
There are many manufacturers of basketballs. Some include Spalding, Wilson, Molten, Rawlings, and Nike.
